As the year draws to an end, we’re asking some of the key members of the blockchain gaming sector what they thought about what happened in 2023, and what they expect in 2024. You can check out all our interviews in this series here.

Alexander Goldybin the founder and chairman of the board at iLogos, the developer of My NFT Wars: Riftwardens.

What was the most significant news of 2023?

The most significant news in 2023 was the lack of serious traction in the blockchain industry regarding user transition from web2 to web3 platforms. This created a profound skepticism among most investors, entrepreneurs and web2 users about the future of the industry.

How did the focus of your business change this year?

This year, the focus of our web3 gaming business shifted towards establishing more partnerships and intensifying our efforts to create an exceptional game.

What do you predict will be the most important trends in 2024?

I foresee a new wave in web3 gaming, this time with genuine core value and high-quality game production. I’m hopeful that the Bitcoin halving will play a significant role in setting the stage for the next bull run. Consequently, I anticipate 2024 to be a pivotal year for the real success of web3 gaming, rather than just a fleeting hype.

What was your favourite blockchain game of the year?

Our game Riftwardens is my favorite blockchain game of the year. We are investing tremendous effort into it and are optimistic about its success.

What’s your New Year’s resolution and what resolution would you enforce on the industry?

My New Year’s resolution is to achieve success with our web3 game Riftwardens, which includes a successful launch of the open beta version of the game, growing DAU/MAU metrics, and meeting all key KPIs for engagement, retention, and monetization.

My goal for the industry in 2024 is to finally prove that web3 gaming is a viable and rapidly growing market, not just a niche and opaque segment with questionable products and a minimal user base.
