South Korea-based mobile game developer Bali Games has launched Axie Champions on the Ronin blockchain.
A PvP match-3 puzzle game with RPG elements, Axie Champions underwent a series of beta tests throughout 2023. It leverages web3 features such as the Axie IP, rewards players in the AXS token and is deployed on Sky Mavis’ Ronin blockchain.
Helmed by CEO Youngwoo Kim, the team also includes gaming veterans who have worked on the Korean hit series Anipang, which has reached over 130 million downloads.
Axie Champions is the studio’s first launch on Ronin.
Youngwoo Kim commented, “Bali Games is on a mission to drive mass adoption of web3 games by taking our decades of experience building web2 mobile games to bring AAA quality mobile games to web3. Axie Champions is not only a casual match-3 game but also a growth-oriented puzzle RPG game and we are thrilled to bring this immersive and engaging game to the masses with the help of Ronin.”
“We are excited to work with Bali Games to see Axie IP come to life in a new and exciting way through Axie Champions. The team is focused on creating a future where everyday people enter web3 through casual, accessible gaming experiences and their successful track record proves they can make it happen,” said Sky Mavis co-founder Jeff Zirlin.
